Millington, TN//One Week Later

It's been one week since our time in Millington, TN.

It's peculiar how every time you go and do something for someone else, a lot of the time that someone else is for you. Our team gathered together for a 2nd journey that led us on steady decline to flatland and farms. If you've never been to West Tennessee you are missing out on some stellar country. About 30 minutes outside of Memphis is the town of Millington, TN. It is town where everyone is nice and some could say it is a small town Mayberry (at least, that was my first impression).

A lot of time and effort goes into planning weekends like Millington. One of the most humbling things in this world is taking the time to develop, create, and mold something and once the time comes -- you say the final "Amen" and this something that you "think" you created, becomes its life and you no longer have control of it. This must be what it's like to have children when one day you let them go and they have to make their own choices.

Anyways...

The messages throughout the weekend penetrated our very existence and brought to life a huge picture that we are apart of. God came. He changed. He was glorified. We came with big hearts to serve Lighthouse Fellowship but the people of Lighthouse also came with big hearts to learn and grow. The Activate Discussions were one of the most profound parts of the entire weekend. Dodgeball always brings people closer together. The moment at the cross still takes hold of my thoughts.

What was your favorite part? What did you learn? Have you noticed a difference this week?

Millington, TN held so much. For us, it was a weekend of excitement, nerves, and a glimpse toward the future. For the students involved, we hope it was a life-change. Thank you so much Lighthouse for letting us come and serve you -- we hope to see you again in the very near future.

May our hearts always be open to what is going on around us -- and may our eyes see where God is longing for His people to go and help those who are broken.

In Christ,

- EB
